With the last days of summer fast approaching, what better time to start preparing your own little homegrown supermarket. Not sure where to start? here's a few tips to help you out. Just remember to ease off the watering as Autumn starts to cool down.
TIME TO PLANT:
Beetroot, broccoli, brussel Sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, fig, citrus trees, chives, leek, lettuce, radish, peas, rhubarb, silver beet, onion, artichoke, & spinach
Most warm-season vegetables need at least six to eight hours of direct sun.
success starts with the soil. Most vegetables do best in moist, well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter, such as compost or peat moss
PLENTY OF WATER:
Remember to water early morning and late afternoon to avoid leaf burn. Fruit and vegetable plants will require more frequent watering than during other seasons.
